Our Aspiration:
We want to help you achieve your musical goals… whether that be for classical training, personal enjoyment, equipping for leading worship at church, or pursuing your own musical career. Â Our goal is to help equip you with the tools and training you’ll need to achieve your fullest potential. We will impart to you the fundamental techniques and musical understanding that are needed for a life of music making. We teach both children and adults, and firmly believe that it is never to late to start learning!
Our Heart:
We hope to inspire others to speak the language of music. Â Our lives have been deeply affected by the ability to express our hearts and emotions through music. Both of us have had teachers throughout our lives who have shaped us musically and imparted to us what is necessary for us to speak the language of music. It excites us when we get to come alongside budding musicians in hopes that we can have a similar effect on them. We believe that music truly is a life defining and enriching endeavor.
Our Method:
We have an individualized approach to each student. Through many years of teaching experience and accumulation of effective teaching material, we have confidence in being able to select the most suitable resources to cater towards each student’s specific needs and goals. We focus on establishing well balanced musicians, providing attention to every facet of music education, including technique, musicianship, ear training, theory, and improvisation. We also encourage and help facilitate for students to form ensembles to foster musical collaboration.Â
What to Expect:
We teach private one-on-one lessons from our home in Whittier and offer 30min, 45min, or 1hr lessons per instrument or voice depending on your preference and what we believe will best serve the individual student.
What does the first lesson look like?
We will sit down, get to know each other a bit, talk about your goals and aspirations with music, and then we will start the lesson! You will be left with the first things to work on until the next time we meet. Then once when we meet back together, we will hit the ground running!
